Sleek Blushes and Nars Dupe

Monday 30 June 2014

Hello Lovelies!
Today I thought I'd write a little review on Sleek blushes as I mentioned Rose Gold (aka the cheaper dupe for Nars Orgasm Blush) in my Summer Favourites and it reminded me of what great value for money they are. I believe Sleek was originally a brand made for women of colour but that is not to say their blushes won't suit women of all different skin tones. They have a wide selection of shades to choose from and the ones I have tested are all pigmented and last well on the skin. My only issue is that application is a bit tricky but in all honesty that's probably more to do with me than the product. I don't know if it's just the shape of my cheeks but I'm constantly guessing at where to put my blusher.. like do I go on the apples on my cheek or just above my cheek bone :S. Anyway on to the review!

The First I won't talk about to much as I have mentioned it in my Favorites. However, Sleek's Blush in Rose gold is basically a really pretty rosey pink colour with golden highlight, which is exactly what the name would suggest. I think that I think would be suitable for a lot a skin tones although I don't know about darker skin tones as I have never tried it any of my friends who have darker skin. The pink pigment in it is very wearable and subtle without it looking too girly and how I used to do my blush when I was five (very pink and in a perfect circle on my cheeks.. not a good look). But my favorite part of this blush is definitely the gold in it because it gives a lovely golden shine..like a bronzed goddess.

Next it's Coral! A Matte shade. Now this product in the pan looks rather daunting, brown, non corally and not really like your typical blush colour if you ask me. However, this colour is another that is true to its name (gold star to Sleek and its choice of product names). The Blush is definitely a coral colour on the cheeks as it is a mostly browny peach colour with a small amount pf pink. I think this is maybe one of their more unique colours but if I had to say what it what similar to I'd say Nars' Gina in how it looks on the cheeks. I do really like this colour and the fact it's matte but for some reason I don't find myself reaching for it that often which is a shame :( so I think I'll make it my summer resolution to wear it more!

Finally is Flushed and that definitely describes this colour very well. It's a very deep pink colour that is almost berry like and is another Matte Shade. I love this blush for autumn and winter as it does give that flush of colour on those dull grey days we are all too familiar with here in England. I would say to be very careful upon application of this blush as it is very pigmented and comes out on the cheeks exactly how it looks in the packaging, which is a very bold colour! however it can be blended to a really pretty deep berry colour that I like to use if I'm not going to contour or bronze, which admittedly is not often but I still like the look it gives my cheeks. This would also definitely suit darker skinned women.

Hope you enjoyed reading my little review on Sleek blushes. They're around £4.49 each which is not bad at all considering I have used these quite a few times (particularly Rose Gold) and to me there isn't even really a dent in any of them. I would love to know if you have any of these blushes and your thoughts? also what is your favourite blush or brand for blushes?

London Baby!

Sunday 29 June 2014

Hello lovelies!
If you have read the about me section of my blog you will know that I am a great lover of plays and theatre. Last October I was fortunate enough to see what is now one of my favourite pieces of theatre that I have ever seen...'The Drowned Man' by a company called Punchdrunk. I can imagine not many people will have heard of this company because in all honesty their fairly new to me too. Anyway I recently saw it for the second time in London so it was a very good excuse to have a good mooch around London for the day.

First stop was to drop our bags off in Hampstead Heath where we had a slight problem opening the door so it looked as though we were breaking in, which was great start. I thought the streets looked very Notting Hill style as I think most places in London look, so I decided to take pictures whilst my friend struggled with the door, I'm so helpful :\. Next was my first ever trip to Camden Market! for those who don't know, this is a market in London where you can buy all sorts of food, clothes, jewelry etc but it's in an very large old stable and it's just a really cute place to visit even if you don't go to buy anything. Below are some of the photos I took whilst looking around.

These are basically long doughnuts that taste so yummy

I loved the button dress so much! but I couldn't justify buying it enough because I have no idea when or where I would wear it :(

Top River Island £18, Leggings Primark £4, shoes Miss Selfridge £32
The carvings in the walls reminded me of Dumbledore's office in Harry Potter

Chandelier in the middle of the market

Finally it was off to see The Drowned Man! by Punchdrunk :D We weren't allowed to take photos and to be honest you get so into it I don't know why you would want to. I won't go too into it because I know some people really find theatre boring and pretentious and they don't like it. However, if you do I cannot recommend this production enough. Basically it's immersive theatre so you walk around at least 3 floors of warehouse that has been set so well that you feel like you're in the world of the characters (as you can see from some of the photo's below.) The show lasts 3 hours and you can follow round any characters and investigate set even if you are alone. The actors are amazing because they never lose focus and act even when they have their audience in masks stood right next to them! There is also a lot of incredible dancing and movement from all the cast. I'm not going to go one anymore but as you can probably tell I absolutely love it and anyone interested in theatre or anyone up for a new experience and is in the London area, I would definitely recommend giving The Drowned Man a try. I must warn you though it is not for the faint hearted and contains violence, nudity and simulated sex.

Thankyou if you've read to the end of this slightly random post. I would love to know if you have any recommendations for shows, plays etc? and if you have any favorite places to visit in London?

Time to Prime

Thursday 26 June 2014

Hello Lovelies!
Today I was thinking about how this time last year I owned 0 primers :O absolutely none! and had no idea what they really did, I mean I knew you put them on before foundation but like what was the point in them and why are there so many different types. Anyway fast forward a year on and I have a primer for just about every part of my face and with different purposes. A primer to me is almost a barrier between my foundation and my skin, I want it to not break me out, keep my foundation looking the same as it looked in the morning (if only) and I want it to either mattify or make my skin dewy depending on which look I’m going for, obviously I wouldn't expect a primer to do both otherwise it would be some kind of holy miracle genius product!

The Matte Primer – bareMinerals’ Prime Time, I got this primer as part of the bareminerals starter kit, which I cannot recommend enough by the way (great value for money). As of yet I haven’t used it up yet as I tend to not use it that much I think it’s silicone base kind of worries me and makes me think it’s going to block my pores. Having said that I haven’t known it to break me out and it dries out to a very matte smooth base, which is perfect to pair with the Bare minerals foundation or others.

The Pore Closer for Blemished skin Primer- The body shop’s Tea tree Pore minimiser is perfect for this! I know a lot of bloggers go on about Benefits professional but I’ve heard from friends about it breaking them out slightly and well I just don’t know if I want to take the risk yet. The Tea Tree primer says it's for blemished skin and I have never once had a problem with the product breaking me out. I think it visibly reduces pores and mattifies the skin really well without being drying. The only reason I don’t use it more is because I don’t think it makes my foundation last as long as other primers I have. Therefore, I like to just dab this around my nose and forehead where my pores are most prominent and my skin is most oily.
(Top-Bottom) NYC Smooth Skin primer, Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer, L'oreal Lumi Magique, Body shop's Tea tree Primer, bareminerals Prime Time.

The Dewy Primer-L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer, now this primer is definitely a multi tasking primer that can be used as a base, highlighter or to mix in with your foundation. As a primer L’Oreal recommends to use this in the shape of a three, go above the eyebrow, then around the eye onto your cheekbones, finally back then round and onto your jawline. This isn't my favourite way to use this but I still love to apply this primer to areas I want to highlight before foundation. Therefore, although this may not be a primer in the traditionional sense, if you do want a dewy base as your primer I highly recommend this.

The Last all day primer- Laura Mercier’s Oil Free Primer, This is Probably my favourite of all the primers I've tried..and just so happens to be the most expensive :(. It just does exactly what I primer should! It doesn't break me out as it’s oil free, acts as a really good base for makeup to make it last all day or night. I don’t know if it’s just my eyes but it also appears to make my foundation look better and more airbrushed I suppose. Either way although this primer is expensive I seriously recommend it because I can’t see it not working for anyone. The only thing is if you want a dewy finish I wouldn't necessarily recommend this primer but it your foundation is dewy anyway I don’t see why you couldn't use this primer underneath because you would still be left with a dewy finish.

The Crappy but hey it was cheap Primer- NYC smooth skin primer, Not really a lot to say about this primer to be honest, I don’t want to be negative or tell people not to buy a product but to me this product’s just a bit of an unnecessary addition to my face. I mean I put it on and I’m just like well has that done anything for my skin make it smoother etc… and the answer is not really. It’s a shame because the product is pretty cheap and the consistency is not bad, it just didn’t really make my makeup last any longer or look any better. I think if you want to try this primer or have bought it you’re not at much of a loss as it’s cheap and it’s maybe worth a try but in my honest opinion it’s just a bit of a pointless product.

So there we have it a little discussion about primers, I would love to know what your favourite primer is? I think my next one to try will be max factor's face infinity primer because lately everyone seems to be banging on about how great it is so come next pay day I may have to invest in one.

Summer Favourites!

Tuesday 24 June 2014

Hello Lovelies!

I seem to be talking a lot on this blog about summer in my Barry M summer nails post, festival style and my favourite summer lip colour-See Sheer. So I thought I may as well talk about my favourite summer products and share some of my tips and tricks to get a lovely, healthy summer tan/glow.

So the first product is The body shop’s coconut shimmer body butter. Long story short I got this as a present from my mum because I bought her the non-shimmer version and I loved the smell so much I kept stealing some for myself :\ I know I’m an awful daughter but it really does smell incredible. If you like the smell of coconuts or tropical exotic smells I think you’ll really like this, and the smell isn’t too overpowering on the skin but does last a reasonable time on my body. The shimmer version is just especially good for summer because the glitter doesn’t look like cheap fairy body glitter you used to get when you were at a child’s party (although I did used to love that). It actually adds such a nice glow and makes my legs nice and smooth.

The next product is Beyonce’s perfume Heat Rush. It might be important to note that although I love Beyonce a lot (like seriously I have a problem) I honestly bought this purely because I did love the smell. It’s a very fruity scent, which is good for me because if a scent is too floral it reminds me of something my nan would wear, and much like she wouldn’t wear something that smelt of tutti frutti bubblegum, I try to avoid overly floral scents. Bey hopes that women of all generations will find themselves in aromas of this fragrance, since it is young, fresh and less-serious scent. Opening notes of Heat Rush start the composition with passion fruit sorbet, blood orange and Brazilian cherry. Its heart blooms with yellow tiger orchid, mango blossom and orange hibiscus, while a warm base closes with teak wood, honey amber and Rio sunset musk. Basically I think it smells exotic, fruity and non sickly J
Sleek rose gold above, MAC Kinda Sexy Below

The next great summer product is MAC’s Matte Lipstick in Kinda Sexy. A really pretty nudey, pinky peach that looks lovely with a tan. I wanted this product for ages but you could only get it online so I couldn’t try it before I bought it :(.. but thankfully I think it looks flattering on a lot of different skin tones and if you are not a fan of bright bold summer lips but still want a pop of colour, this is a great alternative. For a matte it’s not too drying on the lips, though I would suggest exfoliating and moisturizing your lips first just to avoid any cracks in your lips showing and to make wearing it that bit more comfortable.

Next up! A Sleek Blush in Rose gold. Now I won’t be the first to point out the elephant in the room in that this blush looks a heck of a lot like Nars’ blush in orgasm, only slightly more gold in my opinion *cough and a lot cheaper *cough. This is why it is my summer favourite because the golden glow in the blush has a really beautiful look on the skin and makes it look glowy and healthy. I find sleek bushes to be generally very pigmented but this is quite a subtle colour on the skin and much like the name would suggest adds a rosy sheen.

Me wearing Bare minerals in N10

Now for my Favourite summer foundation. I hate wearing liquid foundations in summer I just find they sometimes go streaky or don’t last long or need a powder and I usually find I can feel it on my skin. Therefore, I go for Bare Minerals Original foundation in powder form, which can also be used as a great concealer when applied with a concealer brush. This foundation has I would say medium build-able coverage, a good colour range, beautiful natural finish and I barely feel it on my skin. It also has SPF 15, which is very important particularly during the sunnier days of the year. My only issue is it can go a bit shiny because of my wonderfully oily T-zone. However, there is a matte version so that might be worth investing in or at least trying a sample. Overall I love this foundation for summer and I might do a full review in the future.

Finally a bronzer! And it’s another offering from bare minerals. A warmth All-over face colour as they like to call it, which is basically a really long way of saying what a bronzer does. I would say this is a matte bronzer but I don’t use it for contouring as I think it’s too much of a warm tone to properly contour and I would prefer to go for benefit’s hoola as a contour for my skin tone. However, for summer my main aim is to look as tanned, toned and glowy as possible so for that reason I love this because it warms up my complexion and definitely enhances my tan. I can see how on some people is may be too orangey but on me in seems to just brighten up my appearance and adds colour when my face is looking a tad dull.

So there we go, My summer favourites! I would love to know some of yours and if you’ve tried any of my favourites?

Summer Dessert Nails By Barry M

Thursday 19 June 2014

Hello Lovelies!
It's another summery day in Bournemouth, which means it's time to bring out the summer nail colours. I would say my collection of Barry M nails varnishes is something I am both proud and ashamed to have. A part of my collection are these beautiful ice-cream and dessert named polishes, which makes me very happy as it's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine when lip and nail products have names..I know it's a bit weird. I think Barry M's may not be of the best quality but at £2.99 these are not a bad price at all and their colour and texture ranges are great too! My personal favourites are the 'High shiny gelly paints' but i'll leave them for another post :) Anyway on to the colours...

The first is called 'Berry Ice Cream' I really nice lilac colour that is probably the most sheer out of the three, but I would say needs 2-3 coats to build to an opaque coverage.I do also find for some reason I seem to reach for this colour the least, I do love the colour but I find I don't have a lot of clothes that suit the colour (not that my nails and clothes are ever co-ordinated),or maybe I just prefer other colours.

The next is 'Peach Melba' I've seen so many people wear this colour it's almost as though it's a cult classic. As the name would suggest it's a peachy, coraly colour that looks particularly amazing with a tan! This is one of my favourite Barry M colours and if there was a high shine version that would make me a very happy girl.

Finally is 'Blueberry ice-cream' I absolutely adore this sky blue poolside colour. It reminds me so much of the photos you see of the caribbean where the sea always looks the perfect blue and that's exactly what this colour is to me! the perfect blue. My only gripe is that there is now a high shine version called 'Blueberry' (which is slightly darker), so It doesn't get as much wear even though I do actually prefer the colour of the 'Blueberry Ice-cream shade'.

I'm definitely going to try at some point the other 'ice-cream' colours from the collection. I think there's 3 others; strawberry, mint and lemon, So please leave a comment if you have tried any of these polishes? and I'd like to know what is your favourite nail brand? and if you have any suggestions for other shades I could try?

Lucy Watson Lipstick- MAC Lustre in See Sheer

Wednesday 18 June 2014

(L-R) Louise Thompson, Lucy Watson. Taken from Lucy Watson's twitter page.
The other day I was re-watching the Made in Chelsea episode where Louise hosted a singles night and I thought I recognized Miss Lucy Watson's lip colour as See Sheer by MAC.I loved the colour on her so I had to see if it was the same colour. Now I can't guarentee it is an exact match but they do look pretty similar and now I have re-discovered my love for See Sheer!

I first heard about this colour from essie button's top 5 mac lipsticks. It is a really pretty warm toned pinky summery shade that MAC describes as a grapefruit colour. I'm really not one for pinks or bright lipsticks because they really don't suit me (seriously..I look like a crazy aunt ). Therefore, this colour is my go to for summer because it's not bright enough to look neon, and not pink enough to not suit my skin tone. It is a Lustre finish which I find is the most comfortable to wear, it glides on the lips and can build up to an almost opaque coverage. A slightly more bold colour than a nude that could be worn at a wedding or a garden party or at the beach. I have also noted that it lasts a long time on my lips, which is always a bonus because I am really not a fan of re-applying and I always forget to anyway.

See Sheer tends to suit a lot of people I find and is a very wearable colour. I do always say that people should definitely try before they buy Mac lipsticks if they can, because I often find that no matter how many swatches I look at online, they always looks different on my lips and skin tone.

I have tried to swap the lighting to get the swatches true to real life but the swatch on my hand looks more like how it looks on Lucy and how it looks in person... oh well I tried, at least you can see how it looks in photos too haha.

So have you tried See Sheer? what's your summer lip colour? do you have any recommendations for me? I'm always on the look for new summer shades :)

Top 5 Drugstore/Highstreet Mascara's

Tuesday 17 June 2014

I have to say that in the world of beauty products mascara is probably the one thing that at the minute, I feel as though I can’t live without. I just think it makes such a difference, particularly to my tired morning face. and I must say I have tried out A LOT in my time so many that one might say I’m some sort of Mascara whore.. :L. So I thought I’d introduce you to my top five drugstore/high street mascara’s because I really don’t see a lot of difference between them and high end ones, both have their good, their bad and their plain ugly (here’s looking at you Revlon Doubletwist Volumizing Mascara.) Anyway without further or do here are my top 5.

Number 5, Maybelline illegal length-I’ll start off by saying I’m not a massive fan of the lash extension type mascara’s because as much as they can perhaps look more natural and I find they often don’t add a lot of curl or volume. Basically they make my lashes look like spiders! However, this mascara in particular I think looks subtle, curled and with slightly more volume. That’s why think this is great mascara for the no makeup, makeup look and especially good for beach days now that it seems summer has arrived in England. I would say that this mascara definitely does add length, doesn't smudge, in fact it really doesn't budge at all which means it takes a bit of time to get off (god only knows what the waterproof version is like) but not too long to really matter.

Number  4, Rimmel lash accelerator mascara- Another one of those that promises lash extension but again like illegal length this also likes up to its claims. The mascara wand reminds me very much of benefit’s all famous they’re real, with its straight thick wide and small straight bristles. Maybe this is why it works so well. Either way this mascara looks really nice layered and it one that you really can build volume with. The bristles catch every eyelash and my only complaint is that it doesn't hold its curl as well but that’s if I’m being really picky.

Number 3, No7 lash impact- This is the most recent adiidtion to my collection and to no7’s line of mascara’s. At £14.00 I’m not sure if this even goes in the drugstore/highstreet category anymore as this is pretty pricey for a non high end mascara. However, I did manage to by this when it was £10.00 as in introductory price and boots are always handing out the vouchers for money off of no7 with purchases, so I suppose we’ll let them off on this one. So onto the mascara, firstly it is beautifully packaged that reminds me of Christmas tinsel! The wand is an ovals shaped and the

The runner up is Maybelline the Falsies in very black. This mascara is probably one of my most repurchased mascara’s of all time and at £7.99 it’s one of the cheaper mascara’s in my top 5. Boots are also having buy 1 get the second half price on selected Maybelline products and you can get the offer here. This mascara is probably one of the most volumes of my collection and much like the name suggests it is very black, adds quite a bit of length but quite not as much as illegal length but that doesn’t bother me too much. The wand catches lashes really easily and adds a really nice curl. The Falsies doesn’t really smudge on me and easy to get off. I know this is a favourite of you tuber Tanya Burr’s, so it must be pretty good!

And the winner iss….L'oreal telescopic mascara in extra black!! I love this mascara and I know the version that isn't extra black is a favourite of Viviannadoesmakeup. It makes my lashes look so long and fluttery, so much so that I've even been accused of wearing false eyelashes. This mascara is also very easy to layer which I love in a mascara because I’m all about adding more than just one layer without making them look spidery or clumpy. Basically Just a Blooming good mascara!

Thank you for reading! I hope you might find these mini reviews useful in picking out a new mascara to try. Do you like any of these mascara’s too? If you would like a full review please leave a comment, and if you have any recommendations leave a comment for that too.

Vanessa Hudgens- My Festival Style Icon

Sunday 15 June 2014

Recently I have been LOVING Vanessa Hudgens' festival style. Since appearing on hsm I’ve always thought she was so beautiful and her sense of style is on point! (girl crush, can you tell?) Seeing all the celebrities through my laptop screen at Coachella made me so so envious of how amazing it looked, so much so that I have now booked to go to Reading this year. Now I know that it will be nowhere near as glamorous as Coachella appeared and I really don’t think I’ll care what I look like once I’m there, but Vanessa Hudgens will be an example of what I want to look like when really I will look like a naked mole rat dressed in a tie dye T-shirt (ain’t nothing wrong with a bit of tie dye).

The First outfit I saw her wear was this lovely white number. She has paired her little shorts and crop top with A LOT of accessories, which I usually don’t really like. However, I think festivals are so much about the vintage accessories and hair pieces that the simplicity of the white in her outfit makes her chunky wrist wear and statement necklace really stand out and look lovely.

The next outfit I will talk about is this bohemian style red playsuit. I really love the almost tribal print of this playsuit and how she has paired it with an oversized sun hat. I managed to find the exact playsuit she wore here, although unsurprisingly it is rather expensive so I’m desperately trying to find an alternative as it would be a really easy outfit to just slip on and not worry too much out accessories because of how loud the print is.

This Next outfit is the classic denim shorts with a crop top combo. Having said that Vanessa yet again makes it look unique and fresh. The detail on her crop top of the coloured flowers I think is so cute and adds colour to the outfit along with her statement necklace, which really spruces up this simple denim shorts and a crop top look.

Finally her next outfit is a patterned bandeau with denim shorts, a long white throw over, boots and once again big, bold accessories. As much as I don’t think anything at a festival that is white is entirely practical. Cue me sitting down in the mud and looking like I’ve had an embarrassing incident, but the throw over is a really nice simple add on to the outfit. I really like the bandeau and if I have the confidence and my stomach is not bloated I can definitely see myself wearing something similar. The boots also look lovely but I think in light of it being a festival I would definitely swap those for some ‘glamorous’ wellies.

So there we go Vanessa’s Coachella Style, I would love to know your thoughts and if you know of any cheaper alternatives from any of the outfits so feel free to leave a comment if you like?

My Chapter 1

Saturday 14 June 2014

Hello lovely people.

I’ll begin this post by saying that I recently got Pinterest!  and I must say that I’m loving it so far. So many inspiring and pretty images. I don’t fully understand what I’m doing yet but I understand that it might take time. This leads me onto today’s post (nice link :P ). I came across this image (on Pinterest) above of a quote that says ‘don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20’ and it has made me want to write about it.

I am very new to blogging, Pinterest, Instagram, even Twitter I’ve only had for half a year! and I find it’s at times hard not to compare my profiles to others. With people being in some ways judged nowadays on how many followers they have or how many likes and favourites they have, it’s very easy to get bogged down by others profiles if they have more followers or are of better quality.

I hear all the time on twitter 'why can’t I be Kendall Jenner’ or, ‘Lorde and I are the same age but she has a Grammy and all I have achieved is a C in maths ‘. It’s tweets like this that make me realise we do all grow at different rates and I don’t mean physically I mean career wise and in our personal lives. I mean there are some people my age with children and who are married and some who are off to uni. I just think it’s important that in anything you do, that you try not to compare yourself to someone who you view as being better than you in one way or another. Everyone has to have a beginning, every YouTuber starts off with 0 subscribers, every professional at one point has started with no experience, every blog starts with 0 followers and every twitter account starts with 0 followers too. I have no idea where I’m going to end up in the future or whether anyone will read my blog, but that’s kind of exciting to me.

I felt like writing this post so at those times when I’m feeling bogged down by someone else’s success or feel like I should be more successful like them, that I can read this and realise that it's ok because they’re at they're chapter 20 in their life and I’m at my chapter 1 in mine.

Conceal Don't Feel

Friday 13 June 2014

As the title of this blog post would suggest, today I will be talking about 3 of my favorite concealers. I have a particular love for concealers because they really come in handy when I’m having one of those days where I really can’t be bothered with foundation, but I still don’t feel completely comfortable with gracing the world with my bare face. So, what do I look for in a concealer?...well I look for a decent coverage as that is what I primarily use it for, a colour that matches my skin or is one shade lighter for my under eye circles, lasting power and that it doesn't irritate or make my skin break out. It’s not too much to ask for is it? Anyway on to the concealers…

Quick, Hide! Long wearing concealer
The first I will be talking about is Origins Quick, Hide!Long-wearing Concealer 15ml (£14.00). I came across this concealer when I was out one day and thought that as it was from Origins it should be okay for my skin, which was sensitive at the time. I am happy to report it did not break me out! The coverage I would say is medium to full and lasts pretty much all day on my skin that can be oily at the best of times. The shade range however is a little disappointing only 5 shades unfortunately, but I did manage to find that the ‘light’ shade seems to match my skin well so either I got lucky or it’s just very easy to blend. I would say this concealer is better for blemishes than under eyes but it doesn't crease so could still use it as an under eye concealer.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Next I will be talking about a cult classic any guesses as to what it is? Yes it is Collection’s Lasting perfection concealer 10ml (£4.19). This concealer seems to have become almost a celebrity in the blogging and you tube world for its high coverage, longevity and low price. This certainly is deserved of its popularity as it got me through some sad teenage problem skin times. I have been using it for around 3 years now and I believe it was actually the first concealer I owned. Great coverage, great lasting power, good colour match although also limited like origins. However, it does sometimes irritate my skin which results in making a break out worse but only on occasion. Also, there is an offer on at boots at the moment where you can spend £3.99 on collection cosmetics and get a free gift! click here for the link.

Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer
Finally I will be talking about Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer 10ml (£14.50) . Now upon reading reviews of this product it appears to be very much a hit or miss product. The reason this has made it onto my favorites is because I genuinely believe this helps to clear up my skin when I have breakouts that need getting rid of. Here’s the science part- this is because it contains salicylic acid which is a key ingredient in many ant-acne products as it “opens clogged pores, neutralizes bacteria within and prevents pores from clogging up again by constricting pore diameter.” Overall I would say this is the concealer with the least coverage of the 3 but still decent coverage, it is very long-lasting and even though I believe the shade range to also have an unfortunately low number of shade choices, the shade 01 really does fit when I’m at my absolute palest, making this is my go to concealer for those bad skin days.

I really do wish concealers had more of a shade range as generally I find choices are limited and it is hard to tell in the shops whether it really does suit because of lighting, but nevertheless these concealers do the job so I can’t complain really. Concealers on my wish list to try are Bobbi Brown’s creamy concealer, Nars’ creamy concealer and Maybelline’s fit me concealer.

Do you have any recommendations?  Have you tried any of these concealers? If so I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments.
Thanks for reading
